“Don’t be surprised if next time they take over a filling station” – Mahdi Shehu Slams Security Agencies Over Viral Video of Bandits Fetching Fuel Freely
Public affairs commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has condemned Nigeria’s security agencies after a viral video showed armed bandits openly fetching fuel from a tanker into their motorcycles.
Sharing the video on X on Saturday, Shehu expressed dismay at the growing boldness of criminal groups across the country. He said the footage reflects the alarming level of impunity and the confidence with which bandits now operate, often without fear of security intervention.
“Don’t be surprised if next time around they take over a filling station, refill 300 machines over three hours, and go unchallenged because the drones and surveillance would have been busy identifying Yahoo-Yahoo boys’ hideouts,” he wrote.
