
Davido Appointed Chairman of Osun State Sports Trust Fund
Afrobeats superstar Davido has been officially appointed Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund, a strategic move by the state government to boost sports development and youth engagement.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with authorities noting that Davido will help mobilise funding and drive infrastructural upgrades across the state’s sporting facilities.
Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, who doubles as the Commissioner for Sports, confirmed that the singer enthusiastically accepted the role. He added that the government is nearing completion of the Osogbo Township Stadium rehabilitation to meet Olympic standards, while plans are underway to establish the Osun State Sports Commission as the hub for sports policy and growth.
Adewusi expressed confidence that Davido’s influence will attract major investments and philanthropic support:
“Davido’s involvement is expected to bring substantial funds and transform sports in Osun.”
Governor Adeleke’s administration says sports will continue to be a key pillar for youth empowerment and community building across the state.
