“Dj Cuppy doesn’t like Nigerians” – Singer’s ex-fiancé breaks silence on failed engagement
British YouTuber and BMX rider Ryan Taylor has opened up about his short-lived engagement to Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
Speaking on the Ladders Podcast, Taylor reflected on their whirlwind romance and why things ended shortly after his December 2022 proposal, barely a month after they started dating.
According to him, differences in values and attitudes created distance between them. Taylor claimed that Cuppy showed “a lack of interest in working with Nigerians,” even refusing to hire Nigerian staff for his business.
“Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” he revealed.
Taylor added that there were no contracts or NDAs between them, saying he walked away with valuable lessons rather than regrets.
“To be honest, what I got from that was lessons. Everything happens for a reason. Do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next! I learned that money is not everything—but not having it is,” he said.
