FG, States, LGs Share N2.1 Trillion as September Federation Revenue Drops

The Federal Government, states, and local government councils shared a total of N2.103 trillion from the Federation Account for September 2025, according to a communiqué issued after the October FAAC meeting in Abuja. The amount represents a slight decline from the N2.2 trillion shared in August.

The total distributable revenue included N1.239 trillion from statutory sources, N812.59 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.68 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

From the allocation, the Federal Government received N711.31 billion, states got N727.17 billion, and local governments received N529.95 billion. Additionally, N134.96 billion was shared as 13% derivation revenue to oil-producing states.

The communiqué noted that total gross revenue for September stood at N3.05 trillion, with N116.15 billion deducted for collection costs and N835 billion set aside for transfers, interventions, and savings.

Revenue from Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL rose during the month, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) recorded a slight increase, while Oil and Gas Royalties and Excise Duty dropped marginally.
