Most Nigerian politicians believe money can buy them popularity – Mahdi Shehu
Public affairs commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has taken a swipe at Nigerian politicians, accusing them of relying on money, deception, and intimidation to gain power.
In a post on X on Sunday, Shehu said many politicians wrongly believe money can buy them popularity, while trying to conceal their criminal pasts, though “it is only a matter of time before the truth comes out.”
He warned that those who use threats and violence to rise will eventually face the same treatment, adding, “Those they threaten today will be their tormentors tomorrow. And tomorrow is just hours away.”
Shehu further mocked their arrogance, likening it to people who believe eating blueberries will literally turn them blue.
