I underwent BBL surgery for my mental health – Actress Uche Ogbodo
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has shared the reason behind her decision to undergo body enhancement surgery, linking it to her struggle with body image after childbirth.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the mother of three admitted that she lost confidence in her figure after welcoming her third child. Although naturally busty, Ogbodo said her body no longer gave her the happiness she wanted.
“I didn’t have an hourglass shape, and having babies didn’t help. After my third child, I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. The surgery was for me—for my mental health, to feel good and confident. I am enough competition for myself,” she explained.
She added that she chose to be transparent about the procedure because honesty matters to her. According to her, too many public figures mislead fans by hiding their cosmetic work instead of using their stories to inspire others.
“Why hide it when you can encourage women struggling with self-esteem?” Ogbodo said, noting that her husband supported her decision fully.
The actress emphasized that her openness is part of her mission to give hope to women navigating similar challenges with confidence and self-image.
