Rivers: I’m really humbled – Fubara thanks supporters as he resumes office
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday praised supporters who had waited since Thursday to welcome him.
Members of the “Simplified Family” first gathered at the Government House in Port Harcourt but were disappointed when he didn’t show. Fubara returned the next day to a massive crowd at the airport, describing their reception as humbling.
He assured Rivers people that, as he resumes office following the suspension of the state of emergency, his administration will keep delivering on the values that earned their support.
He said, “I’m really humbled by what I saw at the airport today. I was also briefed with photography of what happened here yesterday.
“That reception really humbled me it showed love, confidence and solidarity. I want to say that it is not just a celebration but a massive reception.
“I want to assure you that we will, by the grace of God continue to do things that made you love us”.
