We will gladly receive him – Rivers APC woos Fubara ahead of Rivers State’s return to democratic governance on Thursday.
The Rivers State APC says it would gladly welcome Governor Siminalayi Fubara into its ranks.
Speaking on Channels TV’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, the party’s reinstated spokesman, Darlington Nwauju, noted that by APC convention, Fubara would automatically assume leadership of the party if he joined.
Nwauju also clarified that the Rivers APC has not demanded a probe into the six-month administration of Administrator Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd). Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu and the suspended Governor Fubara are expected back in Nigeria on Tuesday, ahead of Rivers State’s return to democratic governance on Thursday.
“If I were the governor of Rivers State, on my return on Thursday, I would announce my defection to the All Progressives Congress.
“I think the governor should join the APC, and we would gladly receive the governor into our party,” Nwauju said
