“It’s hard to believe there’s anyone sensible left in these offices that should be making Nigeria work” – Sowore reacts as DSS drags him to court over Tinubu comment

Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has responded to fresh charges filed against him by the DSS.

On Tuesday, the agency lodged a five-count case at the Federal High Court, Abuja, listing Sowore, X (formerly Twitter), and Meta as defendants. The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/484/2015, was brought by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Reacting, Sowore said he is ready to appear in court whenever required. He also disclosed that the DSS had earlier asked him to delete a post critical of the President and issue an apology—requests he flatly rejected, vowing not to retract his words or apologize.

“The State Security Service, alias @OfficialDSSNG today filed a 5-count charge at the Federal High Court in Abuja against ‘@X’ (formerly @Twitter), @facebook , and myself,” he wrote on X.

“They claimed that because I called @officialABAT a criminal, I have somehow committed a set of “novel” offences they invented and spread across five counts.

“It’s hard to believe there’s anyone sensible left in these offices that should be making Nigeria work. Regardless, I will be present whenever this case is assigned for trial. #RevolutionNow.”
