When Tinubu finishes his eight years, power will come to the north – Niger state Governor, Umar Bago
Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has asserted that political power is set to return to the northern region after President Bola Tinubu completes a second term in office.
Speaking during an appearance on TVC, Governor Bago addressed calls from some quarters for a northern presidency just two years into President Tinubu’s tenure. He described such demands as premature, cautioning against pushing for political transitions before the appropriate time.
“For crying out loud, this man has just spent two years in office and you want it to come back to the north. How?” the governor asked. “When he finishes his eight years, power will come to the north and northerners who want to contest can then contest.”
