APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that more governors and politicians will join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the APC Bayelsa stakeholders’ meeting in Yenagoa, through his representative, Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, Yilwatda attributed the defections to President Bola Tinubu’s performance and leadership style.
He likened Tinubu to a lion unfazed by opposition, stressing that recent defections, including those of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwore and Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, reflect growing nationwide support.
According to him, governors from the South-South and South-East are leaving their parties to back Tinubu, ensuring an “overwhelming victory” for the APC in 2027. He added that Tinubu’s courage and political will are positioning Nigeria for greater progress.
