Nigeria Now Respected Globally – Tinubu says reforms yielding positive results
President Bola Tinubu says his administration’s bold economic reforms, aimed at restoring Nigeria to its enviable position, are yielding positive results and earning the country renewed respect globally.
Speaking at the State House while receiving His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, alongside other royal fathers, the President noted that the economy is stabilizing and attracting international interest.
In a statement on Wednesday, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga quoted Tinubu as saying years of neglect, smuggling, fake records, corruption, and currency arbitrage had undermined Nigeria’s revenue and integrity, but recent reforms have halted the decline. “The bleeding has stopped; the patient is alive,” he declared.
Highlighting progress, Tinubu mentioned the creation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to ensure no student drops out of school due to poverty, alongside aggressive infrastructure development within just two years of his administration.
The President also commended the Soun of Ogbomoso for his transformative efforts in strengthening traditional institutions and acknowledged his support for the government’s tough but necessary decisions.
