Supporters Call for Jonathan’s Return Ahead of 2027 Elections

Supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday staged a march in Abuja, demanding his return to politics.

The group, carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Goodluck, come back and save Nigeria,” converged at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters while the party’s National Executive Committee meeting was underway.

Many of Jonathan’s loyalists believe he has the capacity to address Nigeria’s current challenges and are urging him to contest the 2027 presidential election. Some PDP stakeholders are also reportedly pushing for his candidacy.

Meanwhile, Jonathan has remained silent amid the growing calls for his political comeback.
