NCAA bans KWAM1 from flying in Nigeria for six months following clash with ValueJet officials

The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has described the recent altercation between Fuji legend KWAM 1 and ValueJet staff as a “temporary loss of sanity and control on both sides.”

In a statement on X after reviewing the incident footage, Keyamo stated that KWAM 1 was seen repeatedly blocking the aircraft from taxiing—behavior he condemned as unacceptable and likened to a hostage situation.

While dismissing debates over whether the singer was holding alcohol or water, the Minister emphasized the seriousness of obstructing an aircraft on the tarmac.

Keyamo also criticized the pilot and captain for proceeding to taxi without ensuring the singer had been safely removed, noting their actions were equally reckless.

He endorsed the NCAA’s suspension of the pilot and captain and further directed that KWAM 1 be placed on a no-fly list pending a full investigation. All airlines, local and international, have been warned to comply or risk losing their operating licenses.
