One-term presidency: ‘To be Nigeria’s President not moi moi’ – Joe Igbokwe tackles Obi
All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has accused former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of exhibiting desperation.
Igbokwe argued that only people unfamiliar with Nigeria and the realities of leadership would advocate for a single-term presidency.
Dismissing Obi’s recent pledge to serve just one term if elected in 2027, Igbokwe remarked that becoming Nigeria’s president is not “moi moi.”
Obi reiterated his one-term commitment over the weekend while discussing his plans for the 2027 presidential race.
Posting on X, Igbokwe wrote: “Desperation everywhere. Those who do not know Nigeria very well and those who do know what leadership is all about are desperately asking for a single term in office as President.
“Let us put our thinking caps. To be President of Nigeria is not moi moi.”
