Fish magnet: Igbos are the ones destroying themselves not Fulani herdsmen – Joe Igbokwe

APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has accused Ndigbos of being responsible for the worsening security situation in the South-East, absolving Fulani herdsmen often blamed for killings and kidnappings in the region.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Igbokwe said the violence is internally driven. This comes amid escalating insecurity in the region, with multiple killings in Imo, Anambra, and other states.

One recent victim, Anambra businessman Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as “Fish Magnet,” was found dead on Wednesday after being kidnapped from his home in Ezinifite, Awka South LGA.

Meanwhile, social media activist VeryDarkMan announced plans to hold a candlelight procession in Anambra in honor of the slain fish farmer.

He wrote, “The blatant and pathological lies about the killings and destruction in the South East can no longer stand.

“It is Igbo killing Igbo, it is Igbo destroying Igboland and putting the blame on Hausa/Fulani Herdsmen. This is not our culture. This is sad.”
