2027: Peter Obi under the PDP will defeat any candidate in Northern Nigeria because our people are very fair-minded – Jerry Gana
Professor Jerry Gana, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that if Peter Obi emerges as the PDP’s presidential candidate in 2027, he will defeat any opponent in the North.
Gana made this statement during an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, July 31, amid growing speculation that Obi might return to the PDP for the 2027 elections.
According to Gana, Obi’s strongest chance of becoming president lies in contesting under the PDP platform in the next general election.
“I’m a researcher, and I research opinions. In the northern states, Peter Obi under the PDP will defeat any candidate, because our people are very fair-minded. In 2031, it will be the turn of the North. Our people are very fair and we are building a nation.”he said
Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State, resigned from the PDP on May 25, 2022, just days before the party’s presidential primary scheduled for May 28.
Two days later, on May 27, he joined the Labour Party (LP), where he emerged as the party’s presidential candidate and contested the 2023 election, finishing in third place.
