BBNaija offers N150m – Presidency defends Tinubu’s $100,000 reward for Super Falcons
Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga has defended the reward package given to the Super Falcons for winning the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, dismissing criticisms from some Nigerians.
In a post on X, Onanuga questioned the backlash, comparing the gesture to the N150 million prize given to BBNaija winners. President Bola Tinubu had announced $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for coaches and staff, national honours (OON), and a three-bedroom apartment for all team members under the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme.
”When you remember that Multichoice, the organizer of the BBNaija reality show, is offering the winner ₦150 million grand prize, you wonder why some Nigerians are unappreciative of President Tinubu’s rewards to the Super Falcons,” Onanuga wrote. “President Tinubu has rewarded excellence, creativity, hard work, soccer artistry, and the undying Nigerian spirit.”
