”Nowadays we are more focused on lining up for visas, crafting catchy tweets and chasing clouts online” – Tacha Slams Nigerian Youths Over Lack of National Involvement

Reality TV star Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has criticized Nigerian youths for being disengaged from the country’s critical struggles.

In a post on X, Tacha described the current generation as timid and unwilling to make sacrifices for national change, contrasting them with past generations who fought for power and risked their lives for their beliefs.

She lamented that today’s youth prioritize leaving the country, creating online content, and seeking comfort rather than contributing to nation-building. Tacha clarified that her remarks were not aimed at individuals but at addressing a broader generational issue.

“Listen, my generation of Nigerians are the dumbest and most cowardly, funny how we blame the ones before us for ruining Nigeria, Ex president Buhari in his 20s was part of a coup fighting for what he believed in.

“What are today’s 20-year-olds up to? japa. Believe me when I say, we’ve not just failed the next generation, we’ve buried it. Back in the day, young Nigerians were fearless about taking a stance in national affairs.

“Nowadays we are more focused on lining up for visas, crafting catchy tweets and chasing clouts online.”

“Yall ask ‘what have you done?’ I used my voice. I speak, I show up, I refuse to be quiet. This tweet is about me or anyone. It’s about a whole generation that is too afraid to prioritise the nation’s interest over their own comfort.” Tacha tweeted.
