“Our party has been hijacked by antidemocratic forces” – Dele Momodu says as he dumps PDP for ADC
Ovation Magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a letter dated July 17, 2025, addressed to the PDP chairman in Ihievbe Ward 4, Edo State, Momodu cited the party’s takeover by “anti-democratic forces” as his reason for leaving.
He announced his alignment with the ADC-led opposition coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
Momodu said, “I wish to inform you of my decision to resign from our political party, PDP, with immediate effect.
“My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight.
“It is, therefore, honourable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while the majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC).”
