Former President, Buhari’s remains reaches his Daura home

The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has been brought to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State, where he will be laid to rest.

His remains arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom on Tuesday and were received at the Katsina International Airport by President Bola Tinubu.

Also present in Katsina is the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger, Ali Lamine Zeine, who arrived to pay his final respects. Zeine is the first foreign dignitary to arrive for the funeral, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations and his personal connection with the late Nigerian leader.

Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in London at the age of 82, will be buried in Daura. Funeral prayers will be held at the Emir of Daura’s palace, followed by interment at his private residence.
