Buhari did his best – Former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar says Ministers didn’t do enough
Former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has stated that many officials who served under the late President Muhammadu Buhari did not live up to the expectations he had of them.
Speaking in London following Buhari’s passing after a brief illness, Abdulsalami described the former president as a sincere and trustworthy leader whose legacy will remain a significant part of Nigeria’s history.
“During his democratic tenure, he tried his best to fight corruption again,” he said.
“Unfortunately, most of the officers who served with him were found wanting. They didn’t do as much as he expected of them,” he added.
