Atiku may not have been destined to become Nigeria’s President — Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has cast serious doubt on the political future of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, suggesting it may never have been his destiny to become Nigeria’s president. Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Bwala, a former spokesperson for Atiku’s 2023 campaign, said Atiku had his best chance in 2023 and is unlikely to get another opportunity of that magnitude.

There is my former principal who believes that he is going to win, “In all honesty, I have expressed my opinion that it may never have been destined by God for him to be a president in Nigeria because he has done everything he needs to do to be president and he did not win the presidency. 2023 was the biggest opportunity that my former principal Atiku Abubakar had. He will never have that kind of privilege again,” Bwala said

Now aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s camp, Bwala also criticized the newly formed opposition coalition adopting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform. He described the group as lacking clear policy alternatives and predicted it would collapse within months due to internal power struggles, particularly over who should lead the coalition.

Quoting Labour Party’s Datti Baba-Ahmed, Bwala noted that “everyone wants to be president,” warning this would ultimately doom the alliance.
