I will accept coalition’s offer to serve one term, hand over to North. I am not desperate to be President – Peter Obi
Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has stated that he is willing to honour any coalition agreement that requires him to serve only one term and hand over power to the North in 2031.
Speaking during a Space session on X (formerly Twitter) titled #PeterObiOnParallelFacts, Obi emphasized that he is not desperate for political power but is driven by values such as character and integrity.
The session drew over 10,000 live listeners and nearly 3,000 audience comments.
“If the agreement is one term, I will leave on May 28, 2031 — not even May 29.
“I am not desperate to be president.
“I am desperate to see Nigeria work,” Obi said, in response to a question from a user named Balactic.
