RIVERS: “There’s no reason why there won’t be peace between me and my oga”- Fubara
Rivers State Governor Hints at Reconciliation with FCT Minister WikeRivers State Governor Sim Fubara has indicated a willingness to reconcile with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The previous rift between the two had significantly impacted governance in Rivers State, including the State House of Assembly, and escalated to a point where President Bola Tinubu declared a six-month state of emergency and appointed a Sole Administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
During his suspension, Governor Fubara met with President Tinubu and Minister Wike to discuss a reconciliation.
While Minister Wike reportedly described Fubara as his “son,” Fubara, in a video addressing his supporters, stated, “There is no reason why there won’t be peace between me and my Oga, we want peace so that Rivers will move forward.” This statement suggests a desire to mend the relationship for the progress of Rivers State.
“I want to plead with everyone, they said I’m not a politician but I don’t know what is the entry requirement for wanting to be a politician, but I know that what is most important in this life is respect that I earned and not respect that is being forced.
“I want to earn your respect by not bossing you but serving you. Feel free to tell me when I make mistakes.“I need the support of everyone and we need the support of each other and again, I want to assure you that I’m with you completely.
