
Dark old days of Boko Haram insurgency won’t return – Army chief – Lieutenant General Oluyede assures Nigerians
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has reassured Yobe State residents that Nigeria will not revert to the era of Boko Haram insurgency. During a visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu, he pledged stronger military operations and increased troop deployment to maintain peace in the region.
Oluyede, who previously served in Yobe, emphasized the importance of unity in tackling insecurity and warned of the growing threat in the Sahel region. Governor Buni commended the army’s efforts and stressed the need for community-based intelligence gathering. The Army Chief was accompanied by senior military officers.
