Kano Hisbah Arrests Man Over Disturbing Act With Goat
The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a 24-year-old man, Shamsu Yakubu, for allegedly engaging in an obscene act with a goat in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
Yakubu was apprehended after a viral video showed him appearing to lick the genitals of the animal while instructing another person to record the act. The footage triggered widespread outrage across the state.
When questioned, Yakubu claimed he staged the act to gain social media fame, denying actual contact with the animal. “I swear to Allah, I did not lick the goat. I only placed my mouth near the area,” he said, adding it was his first time and he wasn’t under the influence of drugs.
Following his arrest, the Hisbah Board ordered psychiatric and drug evaluations to determine his mental state.
Reacting to the incident, the Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminuddeen Abubakar, condemned the act, describing it as shameful and a violation of Islamic teachings and moral conduct.
“It is tragic that a Muslim man would subject himself to such a disgraceful act, ignoring all religious and ethical values. This individual clearly lacks any proper understanding of Islam. His pursuit of cheap social media fame has led him into disgrace,” Sheikh Aminuddeen stated.
