
Breaking: Tinubu sacks Mele Kyari, appoints Engr. Bayo Ojulari as new NNPC GCEO
President Tinubu has dismissed NNPCL GCEO Mele Kyari and appointed Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the new GCEO, with Ahmadu Musa Kida as the non-executive chairman.
Additionally, Tinubu has removed all board members appointed alongside Akinyelure and Kyari in November 2023.
Adedapo Segun, who succeeded Umaru Isa Ajiya as chief financial officer last November, has now been appointed to the new board.
The new board includes six non-executive directors representing the country’s geopolitical zones: Bello Rabiu (North West), Yusuf Usman (North East), and Babs Omotowa, former managing director of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), representing North Central.
From the southern regions, Austin Avuru has been appointed as a non-executive director for the South-South, David Ige for the South West, and Henry Obih for the South East.
Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, will represent the ministry on the board, while Aminu Said Ahmed will represent the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
