”Nobody and nothing can stop me from coming home, I’m not a bastard” – Natasha Akpoti dares Kogi Govt
Suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has insisted that no one can stop her from returning home, reaffirming her deep connection to her roots.
Addressing supporters in Okehi LGA on Tuesday, she dismissed attempts to prevent her homecoming. The Kogi State government had earlier banned rallies and public gatherings, citing security concerns, while the police issued warnings urging her to cancel the event. Additionally, Okehi LGA Chairman Amoka Monday declared a curfew.
Despite these restrictions, hundreds of supporters welcomed Natasha upon her arrival. Her return follows her recent suspension from the Senate after a clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual harassment. She was suspended for six months over alleged misconduct during plenary.
The senator said, “Nobody and nothing can stop me from coming home. I’m an Ebira woman; this is my land. I’m the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my roots; I’m not a bastard, and I’m not afraid of anybody.”
