Eid-el-Fitr: Shawwal moon sighted as Ramadan ends
The crescent moon was sighted on Saturday, March 29, 2025, signaling the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr.
Ramadan, one of Islam’s five pillars, is observed through fasting, charity, and spiritual purification. Saudi Arabia, using over 10 astronomical observatories, confirmed the moon sighting, making Sunday, March 30, the first day of Eid al-Fitr in the country.
