He will get you pregnant every year in order to destabilise you, a strategy to make you weak- Nigerian lady shares how a woman can tell if she “married a weapon fashioned against her”
Denmark-based Nigerian woman, Tina Nneoma Offu, has outlined warning signs that a woman may have married someone working against her well-being.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, she described how such a husband discourages his wife from working, making her financially dependent on him. He may also get her pregnant frequently to weaken and destabilize her, leaving her with no independence.
Offu further stated that such men manipulate their wives by making them feel insecure, comparing them to others, and breaking their self-confidence. Over time, this leads to self-doubt and fear of making decisions without their husband’s approval.
She concluded by emphasizing that marriage should not feel like a prison but should uplift and empower a woman.
“He will never let you work, will convince you to be a housewife with plenty promises . But as time goes on, you realize those promises were just a tactic to make you financially dependent on him. No job means no income, and no income means no freedom,” she wrote
He will get you pregnant every year in order to destabilise you. it’s often a strategy to keep you weak, exhausted, and unable to focus on yourself. With multiple children to care for and no financial independence, you become completely reliant on him, making it nearly impossible to leave, even if you want to.
He will make feel insecure. He compares you to other women, makes you feel unattractive, and reminds you of your flaws just to break your spirit. His goal is to make sure you never feel confident enough to leave him or demand better treatment.
He will make you lack self confidence . He dismisses your opinions, makes you feel unintelligent, and ensures you no longer recognize the strong, independent person you once were. Before you know it, you’re doubting yourself at every turn, afraid to make decisions without his approval.
Marriage should never feel like a prison. Love should build you, not break you.
