Kidnappers k!ll Nigerian woman and her son after collecting N5m ransom

A 42-year-old Nigerian widow, Ruth Ifeoma Agunanne, and her 20-year-old son, Chimezie Charles Akamere, who were killed by Kidnappers, have been laid to rest in Imo State.

Reports indicate that the kidnappers brutally murdered the pair after collecting a N5 million ransom from their family. Their bodies were discovered by farmers near the Ohaji Egbema/Rivers State boundary, a region known for frequent kidnappings allegedly carried out by herdsmen.

The local vigilante group, alerted by the farmers, informed the victims’ family to identify the decomposing bodies. Ruth was buried in her father’s compound in Ugbele-Akah, Nkaba Local Government Area, on January 10, 2024, while her son was laid to rest at his father’s residence in Ibeama Ekwe.
