I’m in Onitsha, I’ve not been arrested – Peter Obi counters rumors
Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has dismissed rumors of his alleged arrest and confirmed he is at his residence in Onitsha, Anambra State.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Obi addressed circulating claims of his detention, labeling them as entirely false
Obi also recounted a similar incident in September 2024, when rumors claimed the Department of State Services (DSS) had invaded his home while he was abroad in Rwanda. He urged Nigerians not to be distracted by baseless speculation, emphasizing the need to remain focused on addressing the nation’s pressing challenges.
The statement comes amid allegations of death threats and counterclaims involving Obi and APC chieftain Felix Morka, further fueling public interest in his safety and political activities.
