Burna Boy vs Speed Darlington: Don’t involve me in their case, because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser – Seun Kuti
Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has distanced himself from the ongoing dispute between Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.
The controversy began when Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of engaging in an illicit relationship with American music executive Diddy to secure a Grammy win, a claim that led to his recent arrest.
During an Instagram live session, Seun Kuti addressed fans urging him to comment on the feud. He made it clear that he had no intention of involving himself in the matter, emphasizing that Burna Boy gifting him diamond jewelry does not mean he’s an adviser or spokesperson for the artist.
Kuti also pointed out the irony that Diddy, the target of Speed Darlington’s allegations, was instrumental in boosting Darlington’s popularity.
By staying neutral, Kuti subtly reinforced the need to avoid unnecessary drama in the music industry.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy & Speed Darlington’s case; because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser. Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular.
“He reposted ‘Bangdadang’ which made the song popular. I have done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” he said.
