Yahaya Bello: Nigeria is a paradise for thieves – Sowore
Activist-politician Omoyele Sowore criticized Nigeria as a haven for corrupt individuals, following the courtroom reaction to the bail granted to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
Bello, facing a 19-count charge of N80 billion money laundering by the EFCC, was granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja for N500 million with two sureties. Sowore expressed dismay that Bello was celebrated as a hero after pleading not guilty to the charges.
Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “Yahaya Bello is granted bail and is the instant hero in the courtroom! Just loot enough to bankrupt the poor and enrich the elites; you then become the hero of the poor and the rich. NIGERIA is a paradise for thieves.”
