Nigerians are relocating to Canada because they want to take pictures in the snow – Nigerian man says as he compares unemployment rate in Canada to Nigeria

A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to question the growing trend of Nigerians relocating to Canada, even as the country faces a higher unemployment rate compared to Nigeria.

Citing recent statistics, he noted that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported a drop in Nigeria’s unemployment rate to 4.3% in the second quarter of 2024, down from 5.3% in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Statistics Canada revealed an unemployment rate of 6.5% as of October, with minimal job growth reported.

Despite these figures, the Twitter user humorously suggested that Nigerians might be relocating not for better job opportunities but ”because they want to take pictures in the snow”
