Ordinary President shuts down Brekete family radio, TV program in protest of detained minors
Ahmed Isah, known as the “Ordinary President,” has ordered the shutdown of Brekete Family, a Human Rights Radio and Television program, to protest the arrest and detention of minors involved in the recent #EndBadGovernance protest.
The move followed national outrage over the arraignment of 76 protesters, including minors, at an Abuja Federal High Court, where some collapsed while awaiting their hearing. Charged with treason and other offenses, each defendant was granted bail at N10 million.
This incident has drawn significant criticism domestically and internationally. Isah, shocked by the minors’ treatment, called into the program and instructed an immediate shutdown as a form of protest.
He said, “Terminate the programme, and this is part of our protest. Tell every complainant to go home. The government should do the right thing.
“Tomorrow, we are not going to do the programme. We will open the phone lines, and Nigerians will call in.
“Nigerians will call from all over the world until these children are released unconditionally.”
