Tell your daughters that there is a limit to obedience and submission in marriage – Nigerian man tells parents
Muhammad Shuaib, a Nigerian man, has urged parents to inform their daughters that obedience and submission have boundaries in marriage.
Shuaib shared this advice in response to reports of Muslim men participating in threesomes with their wives, condemning the act as ‘Islamically wrong’ and stating that it goes against cultural and ethical values.
“While giving off their daughters for marriage, parents are fond of admonishing their daughters to be totally submissive and obedient to their husbands. Note that total submission and obedience are for God alone,” he wrote.
“It is in the guise of absolute obedience and submission that some men are having anal sex with your daughters and engage in threesome. Tell your daughters that there is a limit to obedience and submission even to parents not to talk of husbands. Sit them down and tell them those limits.
“Now, my head is buzzing. I am overthinking this scenario especially on the legality of this act. A lot of people are condemning the parties involved. While I can’t do such a thing, it will be unfair to judge and insult those who find it comforting and amusing especially when the wives consented and submitted.
“As a husband, you are in liberty to see the nakedness of your wives. The bone of contention is the issue of the wives seeing the nakedness of each other and the legality of it. If it’s ruled that there is no problem with that, then no one should have the audacity to term this act as disgusting or uncalled for. Another man’s food is another man’s poison.”
“Still on the Threesome Saga. I deliberately made it an open conversation yesterday because of certain factors. I would have just stated that the threesome they engaged in is Islamically wrong, violating cultural and ethical standards as you all mentioned in the comments. My last sentence “Another man’s food is another man’s poison” was what made some of you think I am endorsing the act or I am ignorant of the Islamic rulings. For me to key in legal issues, is enough for one to understand that i Know better.”
