President Tinubu swears in Kekere-Ekun as substantive CJN
President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). The ceremony took place on Monday, September 30, at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa, after the Senate confirmed her nomination last week.
Justice Kekere-Ekun becomes the 23rd CJN and only the second woman to hold the position in the country’s history. She had been serving as acting CJN since August, following the retirement of her predecessor, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
