Ajaero playing dirty politics, At neither of the meetings was an offer made in exchange for the fuel price hike – Presidency tackles NLC President

The Presidency has responded to claims made by Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, who accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of betraying labour leaders by raising the petrol pump price.

Ajaero had alleged in a statement that labour had agreed to a national minimum wage of N70,000 based on an understanding that the Federal Government would not increase the price of petrol.

In response, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, via his verified X handle, @Abdulfagge, refuted Ajaero’s claims. He stated that he was present at the last two meetings between President Tinubu and Labour leaders, and at no point was any agreement made regarding the fuel price hike.

“I sat through the two meetings President @officialABAT had with Labour leaders on minimum wage. At neither of the meetings was an offer made in exchange for the fuel price hike. Ajaero is once again playing his dirty politics with the emotions of Nigerians” Abdulaziz said
