Russian flags: Money was shared to the youths, someone is writing a script for anarchy, lawlessness, and disorder – Shehu Sani alleges plots to overthrow Tinubu’s govt

Former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has alleged that the display of Russian flags by protesters in Kano, Zamfara, and other northern states is part of a plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government.

There has been concern about protesters in these northern states displaying foreign flags. Videos have shown these protesters waving Russian flags and calling for military rule in Nigeria.

In response to the situation, operatives from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies have made several arrests.

On Channels Television’s program on Tuesday, Shehu Sani described the flag display as an attempt by certain elements to destabilize the government.

He said, “A day before the last protest, money was shared to the youths, and Russian flags were also shared.

“That shows that the whole intent of the protest is not simply about the policies and programmes of the government.

“There was an attempt to create an atmosphere where there would be an overthrow of the government.

“When you have this kind of situation, you will see that someone is writing a script for anarchy, lawlessness, and disorder. It is incumbent for someone like us to speak.”
