Abba Kyari granted bail after 27 months in Kuje prison

Former Commander of the Force Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, has been released from the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja following a Federal High Court ruling.

Justice Emeka Nwite granted Kyari a two-week bail on May 22, 2024, to allow him to bury his mother, who passed away on May 5. Kyari, the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, had been in custody for 27 months.

According to Adamu Duza, the spokesperson for the FCT Command of the NCoS, Kyari was released after fulfilling his bail conditions.

Speaking on Friday, Duza said, “DCP Kyari has perfected his bail conditions, and has since been released today.”
