”It’s false and unauthorized”- Ajuri Ngelale dismisses Bayo Onanuga’s statement of President Tinubu making a state of the Nation Address
Confusion has arisen within the presidency regarding President Bola Tinubu’s scheduled address to the National Assembly.
Earlier on Tuesday, May 28, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, announced via his X handle that President Tinubu would address a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, as part of the 25th anniversary of Nigeria’s democratic journey. This report was also confirmed by National Assembly Clerk, Sani Magaji.
However, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, refuted these claims, stating that the information was “false and unauthorized.” He added that the Office of the President was not involved in planning the event.
”In furtherance of his commitment to delivering good governance, President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated strategic projects across the country. President Tinubu’s administration will inaugurate more transformative projects for the benefit of all Nigerians”
”In view of public commentary concerning the President delivering a speech before a Joint Sitting of the National Assembly tomorrow, May 29, 2024, it is important to state that this information is false and unauthorized as the Office of the President was not involved in the planning of the event.”
