Fubara confirms reinstatement of Sanusi as Emir of Kano
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has confirmed the reinstatement of His Royal Highness Muhammad Sanusi II as the 14th Emir of Kano.
In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara said the Kano State Government’s decision to reinstate Sanusi indicated that his dethronement on March 9, 2020, was contrary to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kano.
Fubara noted that this reinstatement came at a time when Khalifa Sanusi II was in Rivers State to support the administration’s efforts to reshape the state’s economic trajectory.
Governor Fubara urged the people to fully support the Sarki of the ancient city of Kano and appealed to the spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria, Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, to lead the over 50 million adherents of the Sufi order in Nigeria with love, wisdom, and courage, while promoting lasting peace, justice, equity, and fairness in Kano.
He also wished the 14th Emir of Kano a successful and prosperous reign that would bring progress to the people of the State.
