Customs officer shoots himself in his farmhouse in Abuja

Abdulwahab Magaji, an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service stationed in the Federal Capital Territory, purportedly took his own life at his residence on Binta Street in the Farm Estate area of Abuja.

According to Punch, a senior law enforcement official disclosed that the incident occurred on Monday, May 6.

The official mentioned that the deceased’s family raised concerns that Magaji had shot himself with a rifle, prompting law enforcement officers to visit the location.

Furthermore, the source stated that upon the arrival of the police at the scene, the victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“A family of the deceased had raised the alarm that CSC Abdulahi Abdulwahab Magaji, a customs officer serving in Abuja, shot himself in his house at Farm Centre with a pump-action rifle,” the source said. 

“Police officers dashed to the scene of the incident and took the victim to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was certified dead by the doctor on duty.”
