Your marriage is not legal in Islam – Muslim man criticised after sharing photos of him and his Christian wife praying in different ways
A Muslim man recently shared a series of photos featuring himself and his Christian wife engaged in prayers according to their respective religious traditions, intending to promote religious tolerance. However, the response was not as expected.
In the images, the husband and wife were captured praying in the same room but separately. While the woman knelt in the Christian manner with clasped hands, the man was depicted on his prayer mat following Islamic rituals.
Following their prayers, they shared a hug. However, the man’s followers expressed disapproval, questioning why he had not converted his wife to Islam.
In response, the man clarified that he and his five daughters adhere to Islam, while his wife is in the process of learning about Islam but has not yet converted.
Some of his followers argued that according to Islamic law, his marriage is invalid, as marrying a non-Muslim is prohibited.
