No worker should have to make do with a meager N70,000 when the cost of living continues to rise – APC Chieftain, Edema
Olugbenga Edema, an aspirant for the governorship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has urged workers nationwide not to accept a minimum wage of N70,000.
Commending workers for their diligence and commitment, Edema emphasized the necessity of a significant raise in the minimum wage to enhance the workers’ quality of life.
He stressed that a higher minimum wage should reflect the efforts of workers who work tirelessly to foster the development and prosperity of both the state and the nation.
He said “On this auspicious occasion of May Day, I must recognise the invaluable contributions of our workforce to the growth and development of our dear state and the country.
“It is crucial that we ensure their welfare by setting a minimum wage that reflects the current economic conditions.
“The demand for a new minimum wage by Nigerian workers is now at the peak and must urgently be honoured.
