Emefiele in court for fresh arraignment
Godwin Emefiele, the ex-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is presently appearing at Ikeja High Court in Lagos for his arraignment.
The former CBN governor, who is currently facing legal troubles, stands accused of misusing his authority by purportedly appropriating billions of dollars for personal gain.
Emefiele, along with his co-defendant Henry Isioma Omole, is slated to face 26 fresh charges before Justice Rahman Oshodi today.
In the indictment labeled ID/23787c/2024 and dated April 3, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleges that Emefiele abused his position during the period spanning from 2022 to 2023.
