Because of cheapness of electricity in Nigeria, some people turn on their Air Conditioner and Freezer for days even while not using it – Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has raised concerns regarding the consumption pattern of electricity in Nigeria, urging citizens to adopt more responsible usage habits.
During a press conference, Adelabu emphasized the absence of effective consumption management in the country, highlighting a disparity between Nigeria and other nations where electricity usage is carefully regulated.
Furthermore, he pointed out a common practice where individuals leave appliances like air conditioners and freezers running for extended periods, despite not actively using them, attributing this behavior to the perceived affordability of electricity in Nigeria.
Adelabu stressed the need for Nigerians to be more mindful of their electricity usage to ensure sustainability and efficiency in power consumption.
