Marginalization will be a thing of the past if you key into the ruling Party – Ganduje tells South East
Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), remarked that the South East had its best opportunity for the Presidency during the tenure of the late Dr. Alex Ekwueme as Vice President. Ganduje made these remarks during an empowerment rally organized by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in Nnewi, Anambra State.
He emphasized the importance of the region aligning with the center by joining the APC and electing governors from the party in all five states. Ganduje highlighted that due to the South East’s allegiance to the ruling party at the time, former President Shehu Shagari was seriously considering Ekwueme as his successor.
Ganduje said: “You know when your brother, Alex Ekwueme was the Vice President to our brother, Shehu Shagari. The body language was there, and if not that the military struck, your son, Alex Ekwueme, would have become the President.
“I tell you this story because the road to political freedom is to key into the ruling party, and once you do that, marginalization would be a thing of the past.”
